Civil society actors

RECLAM: an inclusive project to work hand in hand

To bring together scientific reflection and action, we wish to include members of minorised language communities in our discussions and, also indirectly in terms of the organisation of this event.  Some of the conference’s communication spaces will therefore be open to non-scientific actors: testimonies, presentations of an action carried out in the field, etc.

In addition, we will be relying on a network of local actors to help people put into light, local minorised languages and cultures (Occitan, Basque) through cultural activities with partner associations.

To whom is this call for?

We are inviting associations, collectives, popular organisations and social movements working to defend, transmit and revitalise minor(i)sed languages to suggest doing a presentation at this international conference. We admit the essential value of their work and wish to create a space where their voices and experiences are heard, shared and recognised.

This invitation is addressed to those who are carrying out concrete actions in the field, including but not limited to:

  • Language revitalisation projects.

  • Intergenerational language transmission activities.

  • Community teaching and  learning experiences.

  • Language documentation, archiving or promotion processes.

  • Initiatives to protect and recognise language rights.
